Well, life, its interesting, isn't it?
Some people spend their lives running around chasing a buck, and others sit back and smell the coffee...
This brings me to mind of the Festive Season .. So many people running around like headless chickens, and for what? One day of gorging gluttony, selfishness and general indulgent behaviour. What have we turned into???
I was asked by a friend the other night, "what do you want for Chirstmas?" I could have been pedantic and said "World Peace" .. but figured that he needed a more substantial answer. I replied with "I don't actually want anything".
My justification ...
I have a roof over my head, which is centrally heated, I have hot and cold clean water on tap.
I have food in my belly, and plenty more in the fridge and cupboards.
I have clothes on my back, they may not be the most fashionable clothes, nor the most expensive branded goods (not that I'd want those anyway), but they are clothes, and they cover my modesty.
I can sleep at night knowing that my daughter is safe in her bed, and not have to fear that a bomb will drop through the roof at any moment, or our house will be raided by police.
There are so many things that I am grateful of in my life. I have some wonderful friends and a loving family, and some special people too.
I can practice my spirituality without fear of predjudice nor imprisonment.
I have so much to be thankful for.
So I ask you all ..
What do you want for Christmas?
Can you answer me honestly?
